Our little Tanner is 5. I can hardly believe it. Life is just flying by. Yesterday was Tanner's birthday and we had our friends, the Glausers visiting us from Houston. Friday night we went to the Trail of Lights downtown (an Austin tradition.)---a mile long jogging path though a park lined in jillions of lights illustrating children's books.--Beautiful, but absolutely exhausting. Anyway, the next morning we had crepes and sausages for breakfast (Tanner's favorite meal.) Later we went to Grammy and Grampie's house for cake, ice cream and presents. He loved his whole birthday. Jared and I have decided to let the batteries die in the toy chainsaw from Auntie Chantelle. Cool toy, but, what racket! He was going for quite a while on one tree and was somewhat surprised that the thing hadn't come down yet, so he resorted to whacking the tree with the chainsaw like an ax. Still dissappointed that it wasn't coming down, he moved on to another tree. What a fun day to celebrate our sweet, smart, sensitive, kind and loving Tanner. Tanner loves looking at toy magazines for hours on end, his favorite movies are WALL-E and Madagascar. He loves helping Daddy with projects and building things. He likes playing with things that are very small (like LEGOS) He is a very hard worker and is very concientous. He loves doing things that make him feel big, like riding in his booster seat in the car, and helping me vaccuum and make dinner. He really enjoys singing and going to school. 5 years old---WOW! Happy Birthday buddy!
