Some of you may know our history with turtles---a story which until today had a sad ending with the departure of our adorable Lucky and Lily. Today, Tanner's hope, plea and wish finally came to fruition. We got a family pet. The kids were excited beyond words--even Maj-Lis who was smiling from ear to ear. Not just any pet for us--we Glaziers need something low maintainence, low responsibility and minimal cleanup. Little Koby was sitting in the middle of the garage at Jared's spec house. He was just waiting to be taken home and loved. (Much more lovable than the rattle snake he found in the same place a few weeks ago.) We couldn't leave him there to be snake, hawk or owl food, so now he has a new home with us. When Jared brought him home, my friend Margaret was over making bread with me. She's 8 months pregnant and we had just been talking about how in her home country, Ghana, you are given one of seven names, one for each day of the week--different for boys and girls, of course. Boys born on Tuesday are all named Koby. Since today is Tuesday, we thought it would be fun. So here he is our adorable tiny Baby Koby. Many turtles this small don't survive longterm, so we are hoping for the best.

So fun! Good luck with him!
Hey Cat,
Chan here, little Koby is so adorbale. I can't wait to hear more about it. My friend recently rescued a little turtle, she said they could only get it to eat avacados and canned salmon. Perhaps its just a snoby turtle :)
Awww! That's sweet. Good luck Little Koby!
Welcome to your new addition. I hope your kids take good care of him.:) Ryan says you guys sure love your turtles.:)
